Vascular blemishes such as distended capillaries
and cherry angiomas ("ruby points") can in most cases be dramatically reduced or removed by a non-invasive radio
frequency (RF) treatment. This is achieved by means of low level invisible radio wave energy, which is emitted from the tip
of a hand held electrode into the treatment area. The procedure serves to coagulate the blood vessels of the blemish with
minimal effect on the surrounding tissues. Most small lesions can be virtually eliminated in a single treatment, while more
extensive blemishes may require several sessions. Radio frequency energy is directed at the skin overlying
the vascular blemish, causing the affected capillaries to become non-functional. The treatment is associated with only mild
discomfort, and takes a few minutes to complete. Over a period of several weeks these vessels gradually fade away as they
are absorbed by the body's immune response.
